The P&C at Somerset Hills State School would like to
extend a warm welcome to all families, staff and visitors to our school!
Our P&C is a caring and committed group of parents and
carers who work hard to support Somerset Hills State School to offer the very
best for all our students and families alike. We are a dedicated team who
always welcomes new faces, and enjoys working in the best interest of our
school - and having fun of course!
With the support of the wider community our team achieves a
lot and the more support we have, the more we can offer our school.
Any help, ideas or suggestions you may have are always
appreciated! If you are interested in getting involved in the P&C please
feel free to come along to a meeting, enquire at the
school office or
email us.
The Somerset Hills P&C meets the 2nd Tuesday of each
month commencing 6pm in the school library. Everyone is welcome and we would love to hear from you!
What can you do?
Every member of our school community has the opportunity to
become involved in the P&C, and is urged to do so. You can contribute by:
Becoming a member of the P&C – just come along to a
meeting on the second Tuesday of the month and complete the membership form (262 KB).
Serve as a member of the P&C Executive – as children
leave the school to enter high school, so parents from the school community
move on. It is vital that we have a full executive team at all times to ensure
the business of the P&C continues.
Volunteering – perhaps you have a few hours to spare each
week in the classrooms or the garden, in the Tuckshop or with our community
engagement activities? If not, try and get involved in special activities and events
that are put on, such as sausage sizzles, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls
and other fundraising activities.
Back office tasks – haven’t got time to get to the school to
help out? We’re always on the lookout for those with special skills that can
help with things such as grant writing, preparing promotional material, social
media and other administrative tasks.
If you are interested in becoming involved, please email us
